I heard about Doggie Drawings by Lily from my friend Melissa, who received one as a Christmas gift from her husband. Lili Chin, the artist behind Doggie Drawings, draws computerized cartoon portraits of pets based on digital photographs supplied by their owners.
Check out the resemblance of Melissa’s basset hounds, Dharma and Tabasco, in real life and as cartoons! (post continues below)
I’ve been dreaming about ordering a Doggie Drawing of Kona ever since Melissa shared hers with me. So, without further ado, meet Cartoon Kona! (post continues below)
Amazing, right? Alex and I specifically requested that the cartoon version of Kona be sitting, because she’s had a beautiful sit since she was a tiny puppy. We also wanted her to be carrying a stick, as it’s one of her favorite pastimes. And we couldn’t be happier with the result. Best of all, the artist donates the proceeds she makes from all her drawings to an animal rescue group!
Lili Chin, the owner of a Boston terrier, also creates promotional materials for businesses and nonprofit organizations. If you like Cartoon Kona, you’ll love browsing the rest of the artist’s work (She draws cats, birds, horses and pigs, too!) in her online album – I promise.
